The Narco IDME-891 combines a VOR/LOC/Glideslope Indicator with a DME Receiver and Indicator and Marker Beacon Indicator. This configuration puts more information directly in front of the pilot.

The DME portion of this radio can show distance or ground speed on the LED display at the bottom. The ground speed information is displayed by pressing the OBS knob.

Other IDME-891 features include:

  • Pendulum VOR/LOC needle and rectilinear Glideslope needle
  • Solid-state design
  • High-intensity LED display for DME information
  • 25 watts transmit power
  • Instant "lock on"

However, please be advised that the IDME-891 is not a standalone unit (such as the NAV-121 or NAV-122). The IDME-891 requires one of the following Narco NAV/COMMs or NAV Receivers for VOR/LOC/Glideslope reception and DME channeling:

  • MK-12D with Glideslope - 14V or 28V
  • MK-12D+ with Glideslope
  • NS-801 RNAV
  • NAV-825

Additionally, the IDME-891's Marker Beacon Indicator requires a connection to a remote Marker Beacon Receiver, such as the MKR-101R or CP-136M.
